Jeff Root – “The Endless Adventure” - Album Release

Jeff Root – “The Endless Adventure” - Album Release
9-30-2018

with Zack Root, Grant Clark & special guests: Elizabeth Lorrey and The Rafters

Jeff Root invites you to help him celebrate the release of his latest album, “The Endless Adventure” recorded with drummer Grant Clark and Jeff’s son, bassist Zack Root.  Jeff and Grant were founding members of the Boston band Hot Dates, an integral part of the Boston New Wave scene, which scored several top hits in the early 80s. The current band's critically acclaimed sound has been described as “Avant-garde... Indescribable... Experimental brilliance...”, “Very well written songs that have a ton of substance..”, “a beautifully strange rock and roll singer-songwriter”. Jeff has collaborated with and/or shared the stage with Kink’s Ray Davies & Dave Davies, The Yardbirds, Leon Redbone, The Tubes, Edgar Winter and comedy writers Martin Olson and Steven Wright.  Jeff, Grant and Zack are pleased to be joined onstage by Elizabeth Lorrey and Dave Fitzgibbons of The Rafters who will also be performing feature sets.

The Rafters are a singer / songwriter duo of Miki and Dave Fitzgibbons who met in college and have been playing shows across the Northeast US ever since. Miki’s compelling lead vocals and thoughtfully crafted lyrics are backed by husband Dave’s atmospheric guitar and vocal harmonies.  Their latest EP “Departing” (produced and mixed by Crit Harmon) was preceded by 3 self-produced CD’s and one LIVE CD.  The Rafters have been named a Falcon Ridge Folk Festival Emerging artist and recently have taken top honors on the music site OurStage, placing #1 in the local Country and Americana categories and cracking the national top 15 in Country! The Rafters have shared the stage with well-known names such as Peter Yarrow, Amy Ray (Indigo Girls), Joan Osborne, Lori McKenna, and Ellis Paul.

Elizabeth Lorrey crafts a dark blend of edgy, intense acoustic rock: intelligent, provocative lyrics, fused to a commanding guitar style.  Engaging and often funny onstage, she delivers her darkly compelling songs in a way that immediately connects with the audience, converting casual listeners into loyal new fans with every performance. Lorrey performs regularly throughout New England, in venues large and small, from Portland, ME, to Providence, RI, with occasional forays to North Carolina, Michigan and the Southwestern U.S. She has shared the stage with Amy Ray (Indigo Girls), Suzanne Vega, Catie Curtis, and many more...
